Langwasser military camp (near Nuremberg, Germany), July 20, 1946. Officer, Pan-German historian and politician. From 1910 on the general staff, from 1915-1918 headed the press department of the Supreme Command of the Armed Forces (war correspondent), then at the Austrian War Archives (director from 1925-1938). 1934 member of the state council, from 1936-1938 Minister (without portfolio, and of the Interior, respectively) in the cabinet of Schuschnigg, from March 11 to 13, 1938 vice chancellor in the cabinet of Seyß-Inquart, from 1941-1944 authorised German general in Croatia, expressed opposition to the atrocities of the Ustasa.
