Gewerbliches Sozialversicherungsgesetz, GSVGGewerbliches Sozialversicherungsgesetz (Social Insurance Act for Self-Employed Persons in Trade and Industry), enacted in 1957, governs the health and pension insurance of self-employed persons in industry and trade. Compulsory insurance for all members of the economic chambers, partners in general commercial and profit partnerships as well as partners/managers of limited-liability companies to the extent that they are not covered by the General Social Insurance Act. In addition, the Act also governs pension insurance for public accountants, dentists, full-time free-lance journalists, artists and veterinarians. The managing institution is the Social Insurance Institution for Industry and Trade (Sozialversicherungsanstalt der gewerblichen Wirtschaft), with headquarters in Vienna.
