Gärtner, GustavGärtner, Gustav, b. Pardubice, Czech Republic (then Pardubitz), Sept. 28, 1855, d. Vienna, Nov. 4, 1937, pathologist, professor at the University of Vienna. Researched into skin resistance, significant achievements in food science (Gärtnersche Fettmilch) and the invention of numerous instruments and medical equipment (tonometer for testing blood-pressure, ergostat, pneumatophor, stethophonometer etc.). Publication: Diätetische Entfettungskuren, 1913.
