Fuß


Fuß (German for foot [part of the body]; also "Schuh"), unit of length derived from the length of the human foot, 0.316 m, divided into Zoll (= 2.63 cm). Six Fuß make up a Klafter, measuring 1.894 m (according to an original model Klafter in the Historisches Museum der Stadt Wien). The unit of measurement used to determine altitude in aviation is an English foot (0.3048 m). Weights and Measures.
