Fuchsmagen Fuxmagen, Johannes


Fuchsmagen (Fuxmagen), Johannes, b. Hall in Tirol, around 1450, d. Melk (Lower Austria), 1510, law scholar, humanist, collector. Diplomat under Emperor Friedrich III and Emperor Maximilian I, president of the Sodalitas litteraria Danubiana in Vienna. Donated a large tapestry made in Brussels to St Dorothea's Church in Vienna, where he is buried. The tapestry was transferred to the Monastery of Heiligenkreuz in 1786.
