Friedel Fridelli, Xaver Ernbert


Friedel (Fridelli), Xaver Ernbert, b. Linz (Upper Austria), March 11, 1673, d. Beijing (China), June 4, 1743, Jesuit, missionary. Travelled to Chinkiang in 1704. Asked by the Chinese Emperor to survey the Chinese empire, he created the first cartographic works of China.
