Fischbach, Johann, b. Grafenegg Palace (Lower Austria), April 5, 1797, d. Munich (Germany), June 19, 1871, landscapist, animal and genre painter, lithographer and etcher. friendship with F. Gauermann. travelled to Germany, Switzerland and in 1837 to Rome. From 1840-1860 he lived in Salzburg and created several graphic cycles, among them views of Salzburg and Upper Austria ("Malerische Ansichten aus Salzburg und Oberösterreich.") (1852). Moved to Munich in 1860.
