Fichtner, Carl AlbrechtFichtner, Carl Albrecht, b. Coburg (Germany), June 7, 1805, d. Bad Gastein (Salzburg Province), Aug. 19, 1873, actor. In 1824 was called to the Vienna Burgtheater by J. Schreyvogel and was a member of the theatre from 1824-1865. He achieved great success in conversation pieces and as a character actor in classic parts. From 1841 he also worked as a stage director. Under H. Laube, the managing director of the Burgtheater, F. and his wife Elisabeth F.-Koberwein (1809-1887) contributed considerably to the success of the theatre. Literature: E.
