Familienverband, Katholischer, interest group founded in 1953 in Vienna representing the spiritual and material interests of families vis-à-vis the state, political parties and the public. The association includes the independent associations of diocese members and counts ca. 80,000 families as members. It belongs to the Austrian National Committee, the International Union of Family Organisations and the Committee for Family Policy of the Ministry for Family Affairs. The association´s areas of activity are PR, public awareness and educational programmes, serving as a parliamentary advisory board, providing private day care and the Campaign to Save the Family.


Publications: "Ehe und Familie" als zentrales Nachrichtenblatt (quarterly); Schriftenreihe "Brennpunkt Familie".
