Falke, Jacob vonFalke, Jacob von, b. Ratzeburg (Germany), June 21, 1825, d. Lovran (Croatia), June 8, 1897, art historian, 1858 director of the Liechtenstein Gallery in Vienna. In 1864 joined the staff of the Museum of Art and Industry and was appointed director in 1885. His writings on art had considerable influence. Works: Geschichte des fürstl. Hauses Liechtenstein, 3 vols., 1868-1883; Die Kunst im Hause, 1871; Kostümgeschichte der Kulturvölker, 1880; Die k. k. Porzellanfabrik, 1887.
