Emission

Emission: a) In Austria, issuing of stocks and shares by private enterprises. Includes the placing of the issue in the public and listing on the stock exchange.

b) discharge of air-polluting substances into the atmosphere. This may be caused by either natural processes (biological catabolism) or by human activities (mainly combustion). Growing traffic density and increasing industrialisation in conurbations are to blame for emission becoming a major problem.
