Eggenburger SchichtenEggenburg Strata (Eggenburger Schichten, Eggenburger Serie), fossiliferous shallow-water sediments named after Eggenburg (Lower Austria), of the molasse zone on the eastern edge of the Bohemian massif; were formed in the Neocene, almost 20 million years ago.
