In Bächental valley, oil shale extraction for the production of Tirolean mineral oil. - Since the 15th century a place of pilgrimage (grave of St. Notburga). Magnificently decorated Baroque parish and pilgrimage church (1736-1738), frescoes by J. G. Höttinger. Modern church by C. Holzmeister in Pertisau.
