Durazzo, Giacomo, b. Genoa (Italy), April 27, 1717, d. Venice (Italy), Oct. 15, 1794. Italian diplomat, opera promoter and writer; 1754-1764 head of the Hoftheater in Vienna working closely together with C. W. Gluck and ballet master G. Angiolini. Returned to Italy in 1764, where W. A. Mozart visited him in 1771.
