Draghi, AntonioDraghi, Antonio, b. Rimini (Italy), around 1634, d. Vienna, Jan. 16, 1700. Composer, singer in dowager empress Eleonora's orchestra choir in Vienna from 1657 or 1658. Composed his first operas in 1666, became maestro di capella in 1669; appointed "intendente delle musiche teatrali" (a title created for A. Cesti) by Leopold I, 1673, Court Orchestra Director, 1682. One of the most significant composers of baroque operas and oratorios in Vienna. Works: 118 operas, 43 oratorios (sepolcri); Literature: H. Seifert, Die Oper am Wr. Kaiserhof im 17. Jh., 1985.
