Doblhoff-Dier, Josef, (pseudonyms: Paul Deviloff, Chillonius), b. Vienna, Oct. 24, 1844, d. Vienna, March 9, 1928. Pioneer in the protection of historical monuments, writer and diplomat, nephew of Baron Anton von Doblhoff-Dier, founder of the "Carnuntum" (historical) Association and the "Wissenschaftlicher Klub" (Scientific Club).


Works: Kunstpflege und Vandalismus, 1894; Erzählungen aus Salzburg, 1894. - Comedies, travel accounts, poetry.

Literature: M. Ortmayr, Baron J. v. D.-D., doctoral thesis, Vienna 1950.
