Ophthalmologist, leader in the field of ophthalmoscopy and photography of the retina. Professor at the Universities of Innsbruck, Graz and Vienna, head of 1st and 2nd Ophthalmology Clinics in Vienna, which he also modernised. D. was the first to prove that the macula lutea is yellow.
