De Gasperi, AlcideDe Gasperi, Alcide, b. Pieve Tesino (Italy), April 3, 1881, d. Sella di Valsugana (Italy), Aug. 19, 1954. Italian politician who studied in Vienna. As editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Il Trentino", from 1906 supported the Italian faction in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. 1911-1918 member of the Austrian Reichsrat, after World War II Italian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister; on September 5, 1946 in Paris signed the Gruber-De Gasperi Agreement on the autonomy of South Tyrol together with Austrian Foreign Minister K.
