Danzer, GeorgDanzer, Georg, b. Vienna, Oct. 7, 1946, d. Vienna, June 21, 2007, pop singer, composer, lyricist. 1966-1969 studied psychology and philosophy in Vienna. First professional recording ("Der Tschik") in 1972. Breakthrough in 1976 with the hit "Jö schau"; awarded a Goldene Schallplatte (Golden Record) for 25,000 records sold; "Star of the Year" of the magazine Music Week. Has made a comeback since 1998 with the project Austria 3 (with R. Fendrich and W. Ambros). Since 2000 director of the human rights organisation SOS Mitmensch.
