Czibulka, Alfons, b. Széges-Vérallja (Hungary), May 14, 1842, d. Vienna, Oct. 27, 1894, military band leader and theatre music director, composer. Organised spectacular concerts in the Vienna Rotunda in 1880; won 1st prize at the Brussels international band competition.


Works: more than 300 orchestra pieces; 6 operettas (Pfingsten in Florenz, 1884); Stephanie-Gavotte; Liebestraum nach dem Ball.
