Chrismann (also Krismann, Crismann and other names), Franz Xaver, b. Rihenberg, Slovenia (then Reifenberg), Oct. 22, 1726, d. Rottenmann (Styria), May 20, 1795, the most important organ builder of the 18th century in Austria, initially priest; built the organs of the Jesuit Church in Linz, St. Florian (1774), Rottenmann (1795), Admont (1782, burnt in 1865) of the Schottenfeld Church in Vienna (1790) and others.
