Charlemont, EduardCharlemont, Eduard, b. Vienna, Aug. 2, 1842, d. Vienna, Feb. 7, 1906, portraitist and genre painter, son of Matthias A. Charlemont; from 1870 worked in the studio of H. Makart, lived in Paris for several years, where he was influenced by E. Meissonier, painted 3 ceiling frescoes, each 18 metres long, for the foyer of the Burgtheater in Vienna. Literature: W.
