Boston (USA), June 12, 1941, physiologist; grandson of Ernst Wilhelm von Brücke, father of Franz Theodor von Brücke. 1916-1938 university professor in Innsbruck; emigration, professor in Cambridge (USA); developed the "floating stimulation" examination method; important works in the fields of nerve and muscle physiology, physiology of the central nervous system and physiological optics.
