Brixental


Brixental Valley, Tyrol, southeastern side valley of the Inn valley in the Kitzbühel Alps, stretches from Kitzbühel to Wörgl; the Brixentaler Ache river flows through the valley, which is also traversed by the Western Railway; Hohe Salve mountain (1,828 m) in the north. The Brixental Valley was part of the province of Salzburg from 1312 and became part of the Tyrol in 1816. - Main settlement: the market town of Hopfgarten (pop. 5,196).
