Böhm-Ermolli, Eduard, b. Ancona (Italy), Feb. 12, 1856, d. Opava, Czech Republic (then Troppau), Dec. 9, 1941, field marshal (1918), during World War I military and administrative commander at the Russian front, relieved Lvív in 1915 and led the offensive against Russia in summer 1917.
