Vienna, Aug. 5, 1949, sculptor, son of Eduard Bitterlich, studied at the Vienna Academy and under C. von Zumbusch, study trip to Italy, from 1901 taught at the Vienna Academy; created the Gutenberg Memorial (1900) and the Empress Elisabeth Memorial (1904-1907) in Vienna in collaboration with the architect F. Ohmann.
