Bitterlich, Hans, b. Vienna, April 28, 1860, d. Vienna, Aug. 5, 1949, sculptor, son of Eduard Bitterlich, studied at the Vienna Academy and under C. von Zumbusch, study trip to Italy, from 1901 taught at the Vienna Academy; created the Gutenberg Memorial (1900) and the Empress Elisabeth Memorial (1904-1907) in Vienna in collaboration with the architect F. Ohmann.
