Bergammer, Friedrich eigentlich F. GlueckseligBergammer, Friedrich (real name: F. Glueckselig), b. Vienna, Dec. 18, 1909, d. New York (USA), Oct. 9, 1981, poet. An art dealer in Vienna, he was interned briefly by the National Socialists in 1938, after which he fled to the USA, where he established himself as a museum expert. 1935 co-founder of the literary magazine "das silberboot" ("the silver boat"), wrote formally conventional poetry. His later work focused on life in exile and Jewish identity.
