Beheim, Michel


Beheim, Michel, b. Sülzbach (Germany), Sept. 27, 1416, d. Sülzbach (Germany), around 1474 (murdered), itinerant poet and minstrel. Wrote the music and lyrics for numerous songs, but was mainly engaged in reporting on the political events of his time; his "Book about the Viennese" ("Buch von den Wienern") gives an account of the events from the siege of Vienna conducted by Duke Albrecht VI up to the reconciliation between Emperor Friedrich III and the city of Vienna.
