Badelt, ChristophBadelt, Christoph, b. Vienna, Feb. 26, 1951, social scientist. Studied economics at the University of Vienna; 1984 habilitation in economics and social policy. Since 1989 professor and head of the Department of Social Policy at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration; since 1998 Vice-Rector of the university; designated Rector as of 2002. Researcher of the Year (Wissenschaftler des Jahres) 1999. Main areas of research: family policy, nonprofit organisations, human services management, social policy and the welfare state.
