Austro Control Österreichische Gesellschaft für Zivilluftfahrt m. b. H.Austro Control, Österreichische Gesellschaft für Zivilluftfahrt m. b. H., enterprise responsible for air traffic control in Austria, active since 1994, created by the Federal Civil Aviation Authority. Of approximately 1,000 employees at Austro Control, 300 are fully trained air traffic controllers who monitor and direct the air traffic lanes over Austria (in 1996 there were 685,053 air traffic movements); in addition, Austro Control monitors aircraft safety and pilot training, as well as supplying aviation information and weather data for air traffic.
