Austerlitz, Schlacht vonAusterlitz, Battle of: On December 2, 1805, Napoleon I defeated the Austro-Russian Army east of Brünn (now Brno) near Austerlitz (now Slavkov u Brna, Czech Republic) ("Dreikaiserschlacht" = Battle of the Three Emperors). The defeat of the Allies was followed by the Armistice of Znaim (now Znojmo, December 6, 1805) and the Treaty of Pressburg (now Bratislava, December 26, 1805).
