Augustin, Vinzenz Freiherr vonAugustin, Baron Vinzenz von, b. Pest (Hungary), March 27, 1780, d. Vienna, March 6, 1859, cartographer and general; father of Baron Ferdinand von Augustin. Drew up a plan for the mapping and triangulation of the Franzian Cartographical Register, wrote the textbook "Elementary Geometry" and constructed several geodetic instruments.
