Aribo

Aribo, 876-909, last named Margrave of the Carolingian March in the Danube area, finally also of the Traungau. During his reign, the Raffelstetten Customs Regulations were issued (between 903-905). His descendants, the Aribones, survived until the 12th century as a large clan with many different branches in Carinthia and Bavaria (founders of Göß, Millstatt; Albuin).

Literature: H. Dopsch, Die Aribonen, exam. paper, Institut für Ö. Geschichtsforschung, Vienna 1968.
