AnegengeAnegenge, early Middle High German work of poetry (3,242 lines of rhyming couplets), author unknown, written around 1173, survives only in the Wiener Sammelhandschrift 2696 (Manuscript ). Theological reflections on the Creation and Salvation (Middle High German "anegenge" = beginning) following the scholastic tradition with the goal of instructing an audience that was uneducated in theology on the topic of the history of the Salvation.
