Alpine Clubs: The following clubs belong to the Austrian Association of Alpine Clubs (founded 1949): Austrian Alpenverein, Österreichischer Touristenklub (founded 1869), Österreichischer Alpenklub (founded 1878), Österreichischer Gebirgsverein (founded 1890), Österreichische Bergsteigervereinigung, "Die Naturfreunde" tourist association and a number of small clubs and Alpine societies.
