Theater an der Wien - 6th district, Linke Wienzeile 6/Millöckergasse
This coloured copper engraving shows the side front of the Theater an der Wien from today’s Millöckergasse with the so-called Papageno gate.
Emanuel Schikaneder (cf. "Österreich-Lexikon") had this theatre built, which was opened in 1801. It was there that Schubert’s opera "The Magic Harp" was performed and also his musical play "Rosamunde".
