Franz Schubert, 1829
Bust by Josef Alois Dialer, exhibited at Schubert’s deathplace. Schubert’s friends took care that his tomb was decorated with a bust, which was the work of the Tyrolese Josef Alois Dialer, an acquaintance of Schubert’s. This bust of cast iron was later bronzed. It stood at Währing Cemetery until Schubert’s re-interment in the Central Cemetery.
