© Historical Museum
of Vienna
The scene represents man’s fall, with the tree of knowledge, the serpent, Adam and Eve, and the cherub. In the foreground we can see Schubert at the piano, behind him Kupelwieser’s (cf. "Österreich-Lexikon") dog, Drago. Adam and Eve are represented by Franz and Therese Derffel, whose father was the administrator’s brother. In fron (right) there is Josef von Spaun, Schubert’s best friend, with Schober’s sister Sophie.

Atzenbrugg (cf. "Österreich-Lexikon").
