The street in which Schubert's birthplace stands was called "Obere Hauptstraße" in Schubert's lifetime. It got the name "Nußdorferstraße" in 1862. The name of the house was "To the Red Crab" and belonged to the suburb of Himmelpfortgrund, now the 9th district of Vienna, Nußdorferstraße 54. Today it houses a Schubert Museum.
