Strauß memorial in the Stadtpark, Vienna
1010 Vienna, Parkring
The Strauß memorial is one of the most frequently photographed memorials of Vienna and represents the composer as he lives in most people’s imagination: the Waltz King playing the violin, facing his orchestra. The memorial was sculpted by Edmund Hellmer in 1921 and shows a guilded bronze figure on a pedestal with an inscription, behind it a marble arch with leaf decorations.
