Oratorio memorial plaque in the Haydn House
Haydn heard Handel’s oratorios in England, which inspired him to try his hand at this genre as well. The great success of "The Creation" made him plan another oratorio, i.e. "The Seasons". Both works were composed in the house of Haydngasse 19.
