Beethoven-Grillparzer house

In 1808, while working at his 6th symphony, Beethoven stayed at Grinzingerstraße 64, together with the young dramatist Franz Grillparzer. Franz Grillparzer describes his first encounter with Beethoven like this:

"The first time I saw Beethoven was in my boyhood; it might have been 1804 or 1805, during a musical evening in the house of my uncle, Josef Sonnleithner, then partner of an art and music business in Vienna. Among those present were also Cherubini and Abbe Vogler. He (Beethoven) still had a very thin figure then and, contrary to his later habit, dressed most elegantly in black; he wore glasses, something I remembered so well, because later on he did not use this means against short-sightedness any longer."
