Brahms spent the summers of 1884 and 1885 at Mürzzuschlag. There he composed the whole of his 4th and final symphony. The very active Austrian Brahms Society, with its seat at Mürzzuschlag tries to keep alive the composer's work for a large circle of music lovers by means of publications, exhibitions and concerts.
