"It is just wonderful here!" That was what Brahms wrote when he moved into the splendidly furnished summer "residence" at Mürzzuschlag in 1884. As it appealed to him so much, he returned the following year to this little town at the foot of the Styrian side of Semmering. In the 9 months he spent there during the two summers he produced 30 vocal works and his 4th symphony.
