Berlin, Fasanenstraße 1B
In August 1925 Schönberg was appointed director of a masterclass for musical composition at the Berlin Academy of Arts, as Ferruccio Busoni's successor. In May 1933 Schönberg left Germany. At first he went to France and reverted to Judaism although he had become a Protestant at the age of 18. In autumn 1933 he emigrated to the USA, accepted professorships at the Malkin Conservatory in New York and in Boston and settled in Los Angeles in 1934.
