Schönberg's apartment
1090 Vienna, Liechtensteinstraße 68-70
Before his marriage Schönberg lived in various apartments in the second district. Immediately after the wedding the young couple moved to a flat in Porzellangasse 53 (October 1901). In 1902, on Richard Strauss' recommendation, Schönberg was invited to teach harmony at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin. In late summer 1903 he returned to Vienna with his wife and daughter Gertrude (born on August 1, 1902) and stayed in Liechtensteinstraße 68-70 in the ninth district.
