Foundation of a Josef Matthias Hauer-Circle in Vienna, the first society to cultivate 12-note music. |

During the Vienna Festival his opera The Black Spider (composed in 1932) is first performed by Michael Gielen at the Theater an der Wien. |

Victor Sokolowski organises courses about Hauer's 12-note music and his theory on tropes at the Vienna Academy of Music. |

On the occasion of his 20th anniversary a memorial exhibition is shown in Vienna, followed by others in Gent, Warsaw, Katowice, Cracow, Wiener Neustadt, Toronto and Florence. |
