Hauer Activities in memoriam Josef (Matthias) Hauer

1959
22. September: Hauer verstirbt im 77. Lebensjahr und wird am Dornbacher Friedhof beigesetzt.
1960 His pupil Victor Sokolowski founds a Josef Matthias Hauer Studio. 
1963 Foundation of a Josef Matthias Hauer-Circle in Vienna, the first society to cultivate 12-note music. 
1966 During the Vienna Festival his opera „The Black Spider“ (composed in 1932) is first performed by Michael Gielen at the Theater an der Wien.
1976 Victor Sokolowski organises courses about Hauer's 12-note music and his theory on tropes at the Vienna Academy of Music.
1979 On the occasion of his 20th anniversary a memorial exhibition is shown in Vienna, followed by others in Gent, Warsaw, Katowice, Cracow, Wiener Neustadt, Toronto and Florence. 
1983 Concert performance of his opera "Salambo" in the Vienna Radio House.
1992- 1997 Seminar for 12-note music and serial composition at the Academy of Music in Graz (director: Johann Sengstschmid).
Only few of Hauer's compositions have been published
and performed so far.
