An evening of modern music at Wiener Neustadt
On May 9, 1914 an evening of modern music was organised at the hotel "Goldener Hirsch", Wiener Neustadt.
The programme consisted of the 1st symphony (Nomos
op. 1) - a repeat performance - and the premiere of the 3rd symphony (Apocalyptic Fantasy, op.5). A local paper wrote about Hauer: "His creative activitiy deserves our attention mainly from a pathological point of view - no doubt he is a mental case" (Quoted from Walter Szmolyan: J. M. Hauer, Vienna 1965).
