Museum Village - interior
A glasscase in the museum village of Krumbach commemorates Josef Hauer as a teacher. We learn about the existence of reports that were written and signed by Hauer. The attempt at starting an orchestra is described. It is natural that in 1902 this was not successful in a small rural community of less than 1000 inhabitants. According to oral tradition at Krumbach the population did not like Hauer's music. He had learned to play organ, piano and cello. When he was playing on the piano and kept the window open, the people of Krumbach grumbled: "...the madman is playing again."
