Ernst Steiner was born on June 1, 1935 in Winterthur, Switzerland. He began his artistic education at the early age of 15. Until 1952 he sought initial artistic fundamentals in evening courses taught by Bruno Bischofsberger before devoting himself to anatomical and figure drawing at the Zurich School of Arts and Crafts. In 1955 he decided to pursue further education in Vienna, where he attended the College of Applied Arts. In 1956 a phase began in which he travelled throughout the European artistic Meccas of the day, including Italy, France, England, and Scandinavia, among others. e president of the artists' group "Union of Waldviertel Artists". Ernst Steiner paints visions, his art conforms to no "-ism", and he is committed to no absolute style.
